Apple Crisp
This recipe was shared by Bekah’s mom from an apple shaped recipe book. We’ve increased the proportions on the topper by 50% because who doesn’t want more topping?

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cup quick oatmeal, uncooked
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- Dash salt
- 3/4 cup cold butter
- 6 apples pealed and sliced (about 6 cups)
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 Gallon vanilla ice cream
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
- Combine flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Cut in butter and mix until the mixture forms large crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, combine apples, cinnamon, lemon juice, and granulated sugar and mix well.
- Pour apple filling into a greased 8-inch square baking pan and top with flour mixture.
- Bake for 45 minutes until the fruit is tender and the top is lightly browned.
- Serve warm and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
